Gant is currently pursuing his B. S. at Southeast Missouri State University in Horticulture & Cannabis, minoring in Chemistry. During the semester he is a student worker at the Charles Hudson Greenhouse at SEMO. Gant began his plant breeding career in 2024, having a strong passion for science and plant growth optimization. Experiencing each side of Cannabis, he interned for Vibe Cannabis in Winter 2022, and the Summer 2023. Beginning his internship at Saluna, during the Summer 2024, officially becoming a team member in Winter 2024. At Saluna, Gant is a plant growth technician & field lead responsible for field operations and data collection.  Outside of Saluna, Gant continues hemp research. Working with the University of Wisconsin Madison and the USDA in 2024, to collect feral hemp germplasm across the midwest. Gant has dedicated himself to the preservation of wild/landrace cannabis genetics.  Outside of Hemp, Gant has an avid interest in medicinal plant chemistries, and their possible applications. He is currently working on breeding projects involving horticultural crops like Rhodiola rosea, Mitragyna speciosa, and Nymphaea caerulea. Aiming to maximize his career, by continuing to add to the ever-expanding body of science.
